50 Years of Service!! Sept 20, 2021

Sept 20, 201- 50 Years of Service!!! Nancy Lee, one of our lovely residents at West Park is featured today in Niagara This Week. She was recently honored for her half-century of service to the Royal Canadian Legion. We hosted an outdoor celebration for Nancy to celebrate her achievement. Special thanks to our Social Worker, Spence (William) Henry, and our former BSO support person, Jessica Brown, for making this a memorable day for Nancy.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

West Park Health Centre in St. Catharines ON, is proud to highlight the accomplishments of our resident Corporal Dennis Hillar, CD. Dennis is incredibly proud of his career with the Canadian Forces and has agreed to share his story with you.

Corporal Dennis Michael Vincent Millar, CD, is a 55 year old resident of west Park Health Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. Dennis retired in 2010 after a 26 year career with the Canadian Forces.

Remembrance Day 2020 was an opportunity for Dennis to reflect, with satisfaction, on his esteemed career with the Canadian Forces. Throughout his tenure with the Canadian Forces, Dennis has enjoyed the privilege of serving his community and country, while also travelling the world. He was a member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, and also served as a United Nation’s peacekeeper. His favorite memories are of the friendships he has made over the years, as well as his professional achievements, which include recognition for his service abroad.

Dennis’s dedication to his community continues to this day. He currently serves as the Vice President of our Home’s Resident Council and is an active member of our Home’s community. West Park Health Centre is incredibly thankful for the service Dennis provided our country, and for the leadership role he takes in our home.
